Apollo’s Fire: Echoes Across the Atlantic

The conductor Jeannette Sorrell leads the Grammy-winning Apollo's Fire Baroque Ensemble with the Trinidadian soprano Jeanine De Bique. They trace links between Europe and the Caribbean colonies in the 18th century, setting music by Handel, Rameau, Marais, Lully and Vivaldi beside Caribbean poetry, folk music and a recited 1709 funeral oration.
