Benton End: A Paradise of Pollen and Paint

Benton End in Suffok was home of artist-plantsman Sir Cedric Morris and his lifelong partner, the artist Arthur Lett-Haines, who together ran a school there in a communal, anti-hierarchical spirit, which blended living, teaching and making. The exhibition stages Benton End as an immersive “living” space where art, gardening, food and friendship overlapped, introducing the household and its wider circle (including artist Lucian Freud and cookery writer Elizabeth David).
