Caligula

Ivan Uryvskyi's production of Albert Camus's play, which premiered at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre in Kyiv in 2022, takes the Roman emperor as the starting point for a study of tyranny, power and morality. Petro Bogomazov's award-winning designs frame a staging that confronts the abuse of power, surveillance and fear. The production opened the 63rd MESS International Theatre Festival in Sarajevo, where it won two awards, and is performed in Ukrainian with English surtitles.
