Darbar: Rajrupa Chowdhury + Vivek Pandya

The sarod player Rajrupa Chowdhury, a leading exponent of the Senia Shahjahanpur Gharana, performs with the tabla player Vivek Pandya. The recital follows the traditional Hindustani shape, moving from a slow, unmetered alap into more rhythmic sections with tabla. Ragas and extended improvisation are at its heart.
