My Neighbour Totoro

The Royal Shakespeare Company's adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli film follows the sisters Satsuki and Mei as they settle into the Japanese countryside and stumble on a hidden world of spirits, sprites and forest creatures. Tom Morton-Smith adapted the story and Phelim McDermott directs, with large-scale puppetry by Basil Twist, and Joe Hisaishi's songs from the film are played by a live band and singer. The production won six Olivier Awards when it opened at the Barbican in 2022.
