Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra

A visiting German orchestra plays an all-Romantic programme. Mendelssohn’s Hebrides overture, inspired by a trip to Fingal’s Cave in Scotland, opens the evening. A young British pianist from one of the country’s best-known musical families plays Mozart’s dramatic D minor Piano Concerto, No. 20. Brahms’s Third Symphony closes.
